Every morning, I have been walking to the Port of San Diego
with my Dog, Finley. It is an easy walk from The Bristol Hotel which is also
pet friendly! It is so nice to still have the sense of routine in these
uncertain times.
The port of San Diego is still bustling, and while certain
piers and store fronts are closed, it has become a great walking path for
people who are out and about enjoying the sunny San Diego weather while
maintaining their social distancing protocols. Everyone seems friendlier, waving
and all wearing their masks if they get too close while enjoying some sort of
outdoor movement. It has become a fun
activity for guests that have been staying at our hotel for essential business.
The Brigantine Restaurant Group is also building a two-story
dining complex right on the water with several separate restaurants along the
Port of San Diego. This is still slated to be complete by mid-July. Aptly named
The Portside Pier, this gives our guests something to look forward to! The
inspiration for the design is solely based on the historic waterfront. Pacific
Building Group is the general contractor up for the task.
I have enjoyed seeing the project come together during my morning walks and I hope our guests at The Bristol Hotel will enjoy this walking path as much as Finley and I do!
