Grand Opening of
Portside Pier
Just in time for the end of summer, Portside Pier officially
opened on Tuesday, July 28, 2020! The Brigantine’s 42,000 square foot,
multi-restaurant venue features plenty of outdoor dining along the North
Embarcadero Waterfront. We are thrilled to have this new venue walking distance
from our hotel, The Bristol San Diego – A Boutique Hotel.
This waterfront venue has been five years in the making from
local hospitality group, The Brigantine, Inc. CEO Mike Morton Jr. has commented
that the Portside Pier remains true to the original vision, which is modeled
after a fishing boat, with curved steel and zinc shingles on a barrel-shaped
roof. It also features a glass structure at either end that are meant to
resemble fishing baskets.
Our guests can now look forward to dining outdoors at these brand-new
restaurants, Brigantine on the Bay, Miguel’s Cocina, and Ketch Grill and Taps.
There is also a new walk up cafe, Portside Coffee & Gelato, and a beautiful
second level viewing deck and perimeter walkway on the waterfront that the
public has free access to. I cannot wait to try some of Miguel’s famous
tortilla chips and white sauce and then get gelato while enjoying San Diego’s
amazing water views.
